Irish Challenge Cup Final Recap
O Southern led the way with two tries in a six-try Dublin Blues display to win the Rugby League Ireland Irish Challenge Cup Final by 33 points to 20 over Cork Bulls, playing in their first season. G Kinane also added a try and four conversions for the Dublin team and P Marrapodyi responded with two tries for Cork, but it was not enough to stop the Blues. Rugby League Ireland’s 1999 season featured eleven teams in total: four Dublin teams (Leinster): Dublin Blues, Churchtown Warriors, Northside Saints and Tallaght Tigers; three teams from Munster: Cork Bulls as well as teams from Tralee, Co. Kerry and Waterford; and three teams also from Ulster: two Belfast teams, Enniskillen (Co. Fermanagh) and Bangor (Co. Down).
